Manchester United plan for summer exits of experienced quartet to raise funds for INEOS’ first transfer window

Manchester United are reportedly planning to sanction the exits of four players in a bid to raise funds for the summer transfer window, which will mark the first under INEOS’ part-ownership.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Casemiro, Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane are the quartet that could be departing Old Trafford at the end of the season, according to the Mirror. The latter’s contract is due to expire in June anyway, so unless the club tie him down to fresh terms on reduced wages, they won’t be recuperating any fee when he waves goodbye.

Lindelof and Wan-Bissaka recently had their one-year contract extensions activated by United, which protects the players’ resale values and prevents them from leaving for nothing this June.

Casemiro’s wages proving troublesome

As for the Brazilian, he is currently United’s highest earner on an eye-watering £350,000 per week. His deal runs until 2026 but Sir Jim Ratcliffe and co. will likely be looking to tackle the club’s monstrous wage bill, especially given the fact that Casemiro is now 31 years old and his current season has been plagued by injuries.

  1. There is so much b/s floating around one minute someone is leaving then he is not .We buy players that are no better than the ones we have only to give them a free transfer after they have had big wages no one else will pay so we end up paying some other team to take them off our hands
