Manchester United cruised to a 3-0 victory over West Ham on Sunday, with Erik ten Hag’s young guns continuing to get the job done.

That’s been the theme this season, with most of Ten Hag’s experienced stars either ruled out due to injury or significantly underperforming.

That has meant that Ten Hag has relied on his younger players and they have not disappointed. Quite the contrary, they are now the first names on the teamsheet

Alejandro Garnacho had his breakthrough year last season and now, Kobbie Mainoo has emerged as the latest hot prospect coming out of Carrington.

The pair were in action once more on Sunday and Garnacho scored a brace, with Rasmus Hojlund scoring the opening goal.

Just days earlier, Mainoo stole the headlines with a mindblowing stoppage-time winner against Wolves. Speaking after today’s game, Ten Hag has spoken about the future of the club, keeping the players mentioned in mind.

“The future for Manchester United is very good because we have high potentials,” Ten Hag is quoted as saying by the BBC.

“I think that picture [above] covers the lot, how they are together and want to play football with adventure and enjoyment. If we keep this process going I am sure we will achieve high levels.

“We are building a team, we signed young players and give them opportunities. This is a process with ups and downs and we have to realise this. Our experienced players will help them and we need them and they will help the young players perform.”

After back-to-back wins, United now face two away games as Ten Hag looks to build a run and, hopefully, a charge for the top four until the end of the season.
