At Manchester United, significant changes are underway as new investors INEOS are trying their best to make their presence felt at the club.
Sir Dave Brailsford, an advisor to INEOS, arrived at Carrington on Monday in a timely manner, continuing his efforts to completely revamp the team.
The new minority owners of Manchester United have promised to be active around Carrington and Old Trafford, with Brailsford serving as Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s eyes and ears on the ground.
He was there on Monday for a specific reason, and one Manchester United player would have found it quite uncomfortable.
At Carrington, Sir Dave Brailsford gave a specific purpose statement to the Manchester United team. He went there to discuss the INEOS philosophy, emphasising “standards,” according to The Athletic.
Brailsford was “explaining the INEOS approach to sporting excellence and the importance of standards,” according to the report.
For Marcus Rashford, whose own level of professionalism has recently fallen short of expectations, this was especially terrible timing.
The Manchester United star has been in the news for all the wrong reasons as his antics at a Belfast nightclub and his alleged excessive drinking last week has caught the attention of everyone inside and outside the club.
In a statement issued by the club yesterday night, it was said that Rashford had expressed sorrow and that United were closing the chapter on the incident and moving on.
Brailsford will be well informed about the Rashford event. He witnessed the Newport match, which Rashford was unable to attend, and he will be aware of any high-profile events at the club.
Now, I am not at all convinced the James Ratcliffe (Sir or Not), is an improvement over the Vile Glazers!! But, reality is that the jury is still in session on him, where The Religion is concerned!! As it is on any and all he brings in. So here is my take.
Another article, previous to this one, on Strettynews.com, seems to indicate that PSG is quite interested in the Instagram dancing Wannabe knight, Marcus Rashford, who is currently soiling his MBE, royally!! PSG’s interest in this highly paid fraud, Rashford, is an excellent opportunity for Ratcliffe to show that he is, at least, more of a “football man” than the Glazers are!!
He needs to dump this high-maintenance non footballer to the first sucker team to come in for him. I still hold hope that there are still one or two less intelligent top football club executives out there than what we have who would take Rashford!! If Ratcliffe does succeed with this, even at a not so great fee, then maybe there still is some hope that he might clean up the current, “Lazy Prima Dona Drunks”, culture that has infected our club!!
