‘Exchanging documents’: Romano confirms United are finalising another January exit ahead of deadline day

Manchester United are currently finalising Facundo Pellistri’s loan move to Granada ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a temporary exit since the window opened and had given his green light to Granada over a fortnight ago, rebuffing interest from the likes of PSV Eindhoven and LA Galaxy in the process.

Pellistri’s prospective deal then stalled when the two clubs hit a roadblock in negotiations; the Spanish side were only willing to contribute a small portion of his £20,000-a-week wages.

However, the issue was seemingly hashed out by the Reds and Granada as reports yesterday confirmed that talks were back on and the winger was nearing his short-term exit.

Fabrizio Romano now claims that the teams are ‘exchanging documents’ and after the necessary checks are carried out, then ‘it will be done’.

A loan suits Pellistri

The Uruguayan international has made 14 appearances this season; only three of which have come as a starter. He’s totalled 366 minutes on the pitch and ranks considerably lower in the pecking order than he’d like at this stage of his career, so hopefully he can flourish when granted regular game time.
