It’s fair to assume that strengthening the right wing will be one of Erik ten Hag’s priorities this summer after Antony’s underwhelming 18 months at Old Trafford.
The Brazil international has not lived up to expectations at all and 18 months on from his record-breaking move from Ajax, he is no longer the undisputed first-choice on the right flank.
Instead, Facundo Pellistri has been picked over him at times and although Antony still has the second half of the season to impress, Ten Hag’s mind could already be made up.
Crystal Palace star Michael Olise has emerged as one of the hottest names on the market for the upcoming summer transfer window, with United said to be among the clubs eyeing a transfer.
Olise was the subject of intense transfer interest from Chelsea last summer but the London club failed with their move. Now, it is being claimed that Olise prefers a move to Old Trafford over Chelsea.
That’s according to Football London, who say that Olise grew up as a Reds supporter and would be keen on fulfilling a lifelong dream of joining the club.
Ten Hag is said to be monitoring Olise’s progress this season and if that’s true, it’s unlikely that Ten Hag will be anything but impressed as Olise continues to make headlines with the Eagles.
As per the report, Olise is aware of interest from both Chelsea and United but the Frenchman would not struggle with making a decision if it came down to it.
