‘Six European clubs’ in pursuit of United’s 22-year-old ace after latest prospective deal hits roadblock in talks

Facundo Pellistri is expected to leave Manchester United on loan this month but is running out of time to get his desired move over the line before next Thursday.

The 22-year-old was closing in on a move to Granada last week in what would presumably be a six-month transfer for the remainder of the 2023/2024 campaign, however, talks between the two clubs hit a roadblock due to the Spanish side only offering to contribute a small portion of Pellistri’s £20,000-a-week salary.

As such, the prospective switch has been put on ice for now. It remains to be seen if United would include any obligation to buy or buyback clause in the player’s terms given that he’s struggled to nail down a prominent squad role this season.

Pellistri garnering interest across Europe

Daily Mail’s United Confidential column claims that aside from Granada, as many as ‘six European clubs’ have established their interest in acquiring the Uruguayan’s services. These include PSV Eindhoven, Roma and other teams from Spain and Italy.

On the other hand, Erik ten Hag is said to be wary that Pellistri’s exit could leave him short on attacking depth after youngster Omari Forson rejected a recent contract proposal from the club.
