Manchester United fans have been eagerly awaiting news on Luke Shaw’s fitness after the left-back missed the 2-2 draw with Tottenham at Old Trafford.

A report from ESPN claims Shaw is due to make a make his return from injury in next weekend’s FA Cup fourth round clash with Newport County.

The defender has not played since Christmas having picked up a small knock before nursing an illness. Now he is set to return when the Reds take a long trip to Wales next Sunday.

In the meantime, United cut short Sergio Reguilon’s loan spell and the Spaniard has since went on to join Brentford until the end of the season.

It remains to be seen if Shaw will start against Newport County but I am sure Erik ten Hag will be keen to give him minutes on the pitch as soon as possible.

On another positive note, United are expecting Tyrell Malacia to be available for selection again soon.
