Manchester United’s goalscoring woes analysed

It is no secret that Manchester United have struggled to score goals this season.

Research by Ticketgum, as cited by the Manchester Evening News, has analysed when all the Premier League clubs have scored this season in an attempt to identify trends.

Unfortunately, United are one of the division’s lowest scorers with only 24 so far this season.

As of now, excluding own goals, United have bagged just six goals in the first half of matches. This is enough to suggest that the Reds are slow starters and maybe Erik ten Hag needs to do something about that in the second half of the campaign.

United did start quickly against Tottenham at the weekend in a game that saw us take the lead twice. Ten Hag’s also conceded two silly goals and had to split the points.

Maybe it was a step in the right direction and we can start scoring more goals in the first half of games. We definitely need to be scoring more goals if we want to start winning football matches on a consistent basis.
