‘Will deliver’ – Pundit tips Tottenham’s new signing to make instant impact vs Manchester United

Timo Werner could make his Tottenham debut against Manchester United on Sunday.

The German, who was briefly linked with a move to Old Trafford this month, signed for Tottenham on loan with a £15m option to buy (via Sky Sports) and he could make his first appearance for the club at Old Trafford.

It remains to be seen if Ange Postecoglou will start his new forward against United, but he could end up making an impact from the bench as suggested by Sky Sports pundit Clinton Morrison.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, as quoted by TBR Football, Morrison was discussing Werner’s upcoming debut in a Spurs shirt. He has tipped the Germany international to deliver against United, despite his previous struggles in the Premier League at Chelsea.

“I think this weekend could be 4-3 to Tottenham,” Morrison said. “The game is so open, but let me tell you something, that new signing will deliver. I don’t think he will be in the team straight away, I think Brennan Johnson will play, but I think he’ll make an impact off the bench.”

And, we just know if Werner signed for United, everyone would be criticising the move. It’s a different story when it’s anybody else.

Hopefully Werner is wasteful as ever in front of goal if he gets an opportunity to score.
