Manchester United have started talks to sign 23-year-old striker who is high in demand

Manchester United have started internal talks about signing Lille striker Jonathan David.

The Canadian striker is currently being chased by a number of clubs, with Aston Villa being one of them.

David has shown how lethal he can be in front of goal, with the striker scoring the third most goals in France last season, only behind Kylian Mbappe and Alexander Lacazette.

According to 90min (h/t Express), Man United have discussed the possibility of signing the 23-year old striker.
In his 243 appearances for the club, the Canadian striker has managed to score 105 goals and provided 30 assists. That represents a goal contribution in every other game. United need someone with such numbers and output in their attack.

Rasmus Hojlund has only managed to score one goal in the Premier League this season in 15 appearances. The Red Devils are desperate to have someone upfront who can help Hojlund develop into a better player while also taking over the responsibility of scoring goals.

Man United are currently looking to offload players and make room for news ones either to be signed in January or the summer. Jadon Sancho has already left the club and joined Borussia Dortmund in a loan move. Hannibal Mejbri is another player who is reportedly heading out of the club and joining Sevilla.

For David, too, the summer will be very important because his contract expires in 2025. The young striker is estimated to be worth around £43 million to Lille and the French club would be willing to let him go for that price.

  1. Bring that lille striker and our new varn persie mason greenwood back if not we have usless prayers like antony

  2. Impressive stats for David, one problem, he will be coming to a team who have no identity, no style, no coaching quality and a manager who does not know what he is doing. Would he just be a wast of money or worst still a backward step for him as a players. Very few have progressed under ten Hag and many have gone backwards in development.

  3. Let man u sign proper midfielders and wingers and tall defenders who help during set pieces and goals wil come even without an out and out striker Viz: scaldvini,Todibo, inacio, yoro, wirtz, cherki,Kubo, kvicha kvara, olise, nusa,Estevao, neves, yosouff fofana

  4. The biggest problem for a United centre forward is a lack of service. The wingers do not cross the ball , you only need to look at the assist figures of Anthony, Rashford, Garnacho .

  5. Keep Amad, bring back Greenwood, go all out for Jobe Bellinghams, give the youth a chance to shine.. SAF took that chance

  6. Fire the coach and bring in someone who knows how to use our youth and stop selling our best juniors then you will see the best of our team
