Anthony Martial linked with free transfer to Serie A giants

Inter Milan will reportedly consider making a move for Manchester United striker Anthony Martial in the summer.

The Frenchman has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this month, although a report from Sky Sports claims he is adamant that he wants to stay at the club until the end of his contract. There could be a reason for that – like getting as much money he can out of United and waiting on a better offer from Italy than the Saudi Pro League.

With interest building in Italy, there’s a strong likelihood that Martial will leave United on a Bosman at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old has entered the final six months of his deal with United and he is not expected to be offered a new contract by the club. And rightly so, as he hasn’t been available enough to warrant his astronomical salary. These are the type of ties that Ineos need to cut in the coming years because far too many high earners at United have underperformed for too long.

Inter are likely to lose former United winger Alexis Sanchez in the summer and he earns a handsome €7.6m net per season. Italian outlet Calciomercato claim the Serie A giants are interested in signing Martial on a free transfer in the summer.

A move would be impossible this month unless they manage to get rid of Sanchez.

Martial is permitted to sign a pre-contract from next month, but no decision has been made on his future as of yet.
