Isak Hansen-Aaroen, the highly-rated young player who is dissatisfied with his lack of first-team opportunities at Old Trafford, might leave Manchester United.
He is considered one of Manchester United’s biggest academy talents but the youngster is unhappy with his lack of playing time under manager Erik ten Hag.
The Norway under-21 international, who joined United’s youth ranks in 2020 after trialing at Everton and Liverpool, made an impact on Erik ten Hag’s team during the preseason.
ten Hag even praised him by saying:
“He’s really comfortable on the ball. He has good vision and good scanning.
“Of course he’s a young player, he has some deficits he needs to work on, which we will show him and tell him about.”
The Norwegian is disheartened by the lack of first team opportunities at the club as he enters the final six months of his contract with the Red Devils.
United have offered to extend his contract by four and a half years, but the Manchester Evening News claims that the offer “does not come close” to what other teams are willing to pay, with Napoli, Atletico Madrid, and Ajax among them interested in acquiring him.
Hansen-Aaroen wants to stay in Manchester but the lack of playing time has frustrated him.
Despite a number of injuries and illness absences, the offensive midfielder was left out of the team that faced Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup third round on Monday. Two goalkeepers were selected on the bench by ten Hag.
Back in September, while speaking to Norwegian media outlet VG, the player said:
“A route is right for some, which may be completely wrong for others. I think you just have to sit down and figure out what’s right for you because there are different answers for everyone.
“There was talk of something different [in the summer], but I don’t want to say too much about it. There was some stuff, but we didn’t quite agree.
“There is a lot of interest. If we wanted it to be a loan, I know we could go. There were slightly different things that we didn’t quite agree on.”
