Roy Keane has claimed Erik ten Hag will be sacked soon for what he did after the Wigan win

In response to his remarks made after Manchester United’s victory against Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup, Roy Keane predicts that Erik ten Hag will lose his job as manager “in the next few months.”

Man United legend Keane is known for his straight-forward way of talking and bold opinions in the media.

The Red Devils beat Wigan in the FA Cup at the DW Stadium on Monday. Goals from Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes made sure United beat the former Premier League team 2-0 and advance to the next round of the FA Cup.

After the win, Ten Hag said: “The FA Cup is all about winning, it is knockout. You want to finish the job. That is what I said in the dressing room ‘job done’.”

Keane was asked if he could see Ten Hag’s ideas being implemented, the Irishman answered:

“No, not really. I think that’s the problem with United, you know what you’re going to get when you turn up.”

The United manager mentioned the word ‘project’ which particularly angered Keane, who was working for ITV.

Keane said: “The manager there mentions the ‘project’ – it probably means he’ll be gone in the next few months. This dreaded word ‘project’. No, I didn’t see it tonight with United and I’ve not seen it for the last few months.

“But, again, they’re in the next round and it’s an easy draw the next time round, but you need a better level of performance. And the chances they made tonight, you always expect more.”

Man United will play Tottenham, who are now in fifth position, in their return to the Premier League on Sunday.

United’s last Premier League outing ended up being an embarrassment for the club as they were beaten 3-2 by Nottingham Forest.

With the team sitting in eighth place now, results in the league need to improve soon to have any hope of making it to the top four.

  1. United still need to get more goals, there are too many missed opportunities, against better teams it will be much more difficult to win.

  2. Failed managers who are experts on managing:
    – Keane – repeated failure with multiple clubs
    – G Neville – do you remember Valencia? He’s the guy that took over a Spanish club, doesn’t speak the language and takes his brother who doesn’t speak the language. Oh and yes, lost a lot!
    – Carragher (sp). – smart enough not to enter the ranks of a manager.
    – Ince – failed and failed and failed as a manager. Has a lot to say though.
    – Scholes- failed manager

  3. So tired of Roy Keane.
Never seen a ex player like hime. Never has a
positive thing to say. If you has nothing decent to say keep your mouth sut thank you. Seen a
lot of his games and guess what. You made a lot of mistakes to .

  4. I’ve been a Utd supporter for 60 years! This Utd setup is the worst I’ve known from top to bottom. Ten Hag is trying to bide time, he talks about everything being okay when everyone is fit but it won’t be. The signings he has made have been poor with no idea how he will deploy some of them, some of the players he told have no future at the club are now considered starters because it suits him, he can’t motivate them after that and even the players he has brought in can’t be motivated! I don’t profess to have the answers however it is clear the club needs a reset like in the 70s under Docherty. We need players who want to play for Utd young fit aggressive footballers not past it good players on ridiculous wages. I just watched the Wigan game! Stagnant, boring, no pattern of play with no leadership on or off the field. I hate to have written this but that’s how it is I’m afraid.

  5. The man united transition is quite slow and beyond the standard levels due to poor player management by the coaching staff. United should open eyes more the the manager tactics if goes well with the players.

  6. Ten hag, should just leave man united, reasons he has not made any thing for the club just spending our money, as a young boy, playing toys.
Send him off our club, thanks in advance.

  7. I agree with previous comments. I never heard of this ten hag before. Maybe he cant motivate his players. I feel Sancho is wrong not to apoligise But i think he sees big favouritism. Ie..Anthony. Rashford. Constantly playing for months when they have been awful. So i can side with Sancho. Whom is much better player.
