Fabrizio Romano provides Jadon Sancho update ahead of likely January departure

Jadon Sancho is edging closer to an exit from Manchester United as the player’s feud with Erik ten Hag looks to culminate in a departure.

Sancho has not featured this season since the campaign’s opening month after a public feud with Ten Hag, with the player banished from training with the first team as well.

Sancho spoke out on social media denying claims Ten Hag had made about the player following the 2-1 defeat to Arsenal earlier this season.

In the weeks leading up to the January transfer window, it became increasingly clear that Sancho was not going to remain at the club beyond the first month of the year.

Borussia Dortmund, who United bought Sancho from over two years ago, are interested in bringing him back to the Bundesliga and a move is edging closer. Earlier this weekend, it emerged that United and Dortmund had come to an agreement over the terms of a six-month loan.

Now, journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the situation ahead of a likely transfer.

As per the reporter, the deal will not include an option to buy, with the club being mindful of Sancho’s deteriorating value.

Instead, a potential permanent transfer away from the club will be reassessed this summer when Sancho has, hopefully, raised his value.
