Fabrizio Romano confirms Manchester United midfielder is set to join Sevilla

There could be several departures this month for Manchester United, with Erik ten Hag seemingly keen on parting ways with some players for a range of different reasons.

Some players are simply surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and if they are not sold this winter, they will almost certainly leave the club in the summer.

Other players have futures at the club but are in desperate need of some first-team action and Hannibal Mejbri, the Tunisia international, falls into that category.

Mejbri has been used sporadically by Ten Hag this season and just a week into the transfer window, it has been reported by journalist and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano that the player has found his new club for the time being.

As per the report, following interest from other clubs across Europe, Mejbri has decided to join Sevilla on loan for the rest of the season.

It’s added that now, the two clubs will continue to discuss the terms of the loan as there could be an option to buy at the end of the agreement. In that case, it is also reported that there is the possibility of a buy-back clause being included.

Mejbri recently had his contract at Old Trafford extended by 12 months as he was approaching the final six months of his deal.
