Manchester United are being linked with a January swoop for Atalanta star Ederson, a Brazilian midfielder who arrived in Bergamo in the summer of 2022 after impressing at Salernitana.
Reports suggest his performances for Atalanta are not going unnoticed. So much so that, according to Goal Brasil, Manchester United and Barcelona are keeping an eye on Ederson.
The report also states that United are ready to make an offer as early as this month.
It remains to be seen if United can sell any players in January. Otherwise, it’s difficult to see the club doing much business.
We could see players come in on loan and I don’t think Atalanta would entertain such an offer for Ederson, especially when his contract doesn’t expire until the summer of 2026.
According to Transfermarkt, Ederson is worth €27m in the current market, but Atalanta will demand more if United come knocking on the door seeking his signature.
The 24-year-old has managed an impressive five goals in all competitions, and it is believed that United’s board have been left impressed by the South American’s performances this season.
United are hoping to have South American duo Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez back to full fitness in the coming weeks. They both returned to full training earlier this week.
