South American duo return to Manchester United training

Manchester United duo Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez have returned to full training at Carrington.

The two South Americans have stepped up their recoveries from respective injuries this season and it will come as a big boost for Erik ten Hag’s side as they’ll both be available again soon.

Martinez, 25, has not played for United since the Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich on 20 September.

Meanwhile, Casemiro has been unavailable since suffering an injury during our Carabao Cup clash with Newcastle United at the beginning of November.

The FA Cup tie against Wigan Athletic on Monday night will be United’s next outing and that may come too soon for Martinez and Casemiro. However, there may be a chance that they can return for the league match against Tottenham.

Martinez has been a big loss in defence and it goes without saying that Casemiro’s experience has been missing in midfield. It will benefit young players like Kobbie Mainoo when they return to the team.
