Manchester United XI vs West Ham: Kambwala starts, Rashford on bench

Alejandro Garnacho has been preferred to Marcus Rashford on the left flank for Manchester United against West Ham in the Premier League.

Erik ten Hag has seen his Manchester United injury list grow again this week ahead of the trip to West Ham this afternoon.

The festive period is here in the Premier League and we hope it’s a merry one for fellow Reds.

United flew to London and Friday for the early kick-off with West Ham and we go into the game after a 0-0 draw against Liverpool at Anfield last weekend.

However, West Ham welcome United after David Moyes saw his side well-beaten at Anfield in the Carabao Cup earlier this week. The Hammers have caused a few upsets this season, though, including wins against Chelsea and Tottenham.

That’s exactly what they are aiming for today – another upset at our expense, knowing we aren’t at our strongest.

The team is as follows: Onana, Wan-Bissaka, Evans, Kambwala, Shaw, Mainoo, McTominay, Fernandes, Antony, Hojlund, Garnacho.

It’s a debut starts for Kambwala which comes following an array of injuries to our defence. He will be joined by the experienced Jonny Evans in defence.

Despite fears that he would miss out today, Mainoo features in the midfield alongside Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes.

The front three consists of Antony, Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho.

Marcus Rashford will be one of the attacking players available from the bench if United needs goals, which is a regular trend for the Reds this term.

Victory today would see United move within three points off the top four to mark a perfect start to the Christmas period. That way Ten Hag can positively build his side when players return from injury and hope for a second half to the season domestically.

It bodes well that United have won every single 12:30 kick-off they have played under Ten Hag. We hope it’s the same story today.

The match will be broadcast on TNT Sports 1.
