Injured Manchester United star receives ‘important’ January proposal from Saudi Arabia

Casemiro has reportedly received an ‘important offer’ from a club in the Saudi Pro League, as per Marca.

The midfielder has not featured for Manchester United since they exited the Carabao Cup on November 1; he started the fourth-round tie as captain in Bruno Fernanes’ absence but was hooked at half time due to a hamstring injury. He is not expected back until the new year.

Prior to his unfortunate absence, Casemiro had been criticised by supporters for some of his performances, often looking off the pace or sluggish when up against top opposition. He did, however, continue his fine goalscoring form into this season, having scored four crucial goals for the Reds in 12 appearances.

As of late, speculation has suggested that the 31-year-old is ready to ply his trade elsewhere amidst a poor start to the term for United. Having already won more than enough silverware to cement his world-class status – including a remarkable five Champions League titles – he could well pull the curtains on his European career, which may make the prospect of a big-money Saudi switch difficult to turn down.

Casemiro is contracted to Old Trafford until 2026 and ESPN has claimed that Erik ten Hag is adamant about keeping him at least until the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
