Manchester United travel to Anfield to face Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. It’s always a huge fixture but we can’t hide the fact we’ve got concerns after losing 7-0 there in March.
It doesn’t help that United have struggled to get results all season and Liverpool currently sit on top of the league table. We also crashed out of Europe during the week to make matters worse.
There has been reminders from some corners that form goes out the window in these fixtures, which is all well and good until you see Jurgen Klopp’s record against United. Erik ten Hag has a job on his hands to fix that.
The match takes place on Sunday at 16:30 at Anfield.
United go into the game after back-to-back home defeats against Bournemouth and Liverpool. With so many first team players injured and Bruno Fernandes suspended for the trip to Merseyside, we can expect a number of changes in the line-up.
On the other hand, Liverpool go into the game as clear favourites, and you can watch it all unfold on Sky Sports Main Event as part of their Super Sunday coverage.
Prediction
United’s lack of desire and determination has been questioned at times this season, so that is not something I want to be talking about on Sunday night. We showed against Chelsea that we can perform on our day and we need a repeat of that performance against the Scousers.
Ten Hag has the support of the majority of the supporters and I suspect that will remain the case regardless of whether we win on Sunday or not – but we do not want to be hammered at the hands of our rivals again. Not another embarrassment.
However, I can’t help but fear we’re getting beaten on Sunday. It heavily depends on whether our players show up and decide they want it more.
Liverpool 2-1 Manchester United

I would take 2-1, tbh.
In reality, my money’s gone on 5.5 goals or more.
3 guesses not required for whom I think will score majority (all) of them there goals.
