Reporter dismisses claims PSG are interested in signing injured Manchester United star

Paris Saint-Germain are not interested in joining the race to sign Manchester United star Casemiro, despite claims of the contrary.

The 31-year-old has struggled for both form and fitness this season and has been out of action for United since the start of November.

This has led to speculation of Casemiro’s future and there is a possibility he could move on in January. The Guardian suggest United will listen to offers for several players, including the former Real Madrid midfield ace.

The Sun followed up with a report that PSG could look to sign Casemiro in the January transfer window.

However, Casemiro has two-and-a-half years left on his current contract, with the option for an additional year.

Unless Casemiro’s form picks up when he returns from injury, the Brazil star is not someone we want to relying on right now. Especially if his mind is elsewhere.

The latest update on Casemiro comes from BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone, who has been told PSG are not interested in the defensive midfielder.

Stone adds: “He seems to have become more important to Man Utd the longer he has been out injured.” While that is true, I would stress that is because we’ve continued to lose football matches in his absence. We weren’t winning all of them with him in the team.
