Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly targeting Manchester United’s midfield stalwart Casemiro, as per the Metro.

The Brazilian has spent a large part of the 2023/24 campaign watching on from the sidelines; after picking up a knock on international duty, Casemiro was ruled out of club action for a brief spell before returning for a third-round Carabao Cup tie against Newcastle United on November 1.

He was substituted at half-time after sustaining a hamstring injury and has been absent ever since, missing 12 games in total across the Premier League and Champions League, the latter of which United have now been knocked out of.

Across Casemiro’s first season at Old Trafford, he was an irreplaceable cog at the heart of Erik ten Hag’s project. At the beginning of this term though, he came under fire for his performances due to him often looking sluggish or off the pace.

PSG eyeing Casemiro swoop

Alas, PSG are considering whether they should test United’s resolve with an offer for the 31-year-old, who has two-and-a-half years remaining on his lucrative contract, which sees him earn a reported £350,000 per week.

Luis Enrique may be keen on adding more experienced members to his squad as they prepare for the Champions League knockouts, with the French outfit yet to claim the trophy despite always boasting such a highly-rated, expensive crop of players. Meanwhile, Casemiro has won five.
