Serhou Guirassy doesn’t have the level for Manchester United, says Silvestre

Former Manchester United and France defender Mikael Silvestre has aired his views on the alleged transfer interest in Serhou Guirassy.

Silvestre doesn’t believe the VfB Stuttgart striker has what it takes to play for Manchester United and believes Rasmus Hojlund, 20, will succeed in that role.

Guirassy has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks, but it comes as no surprise because Erik ten Hag needs more strikers in his squad.

“No, I don’t think Guirassy has the level to play for Man United, so I would go elsewhere in terms of a striker,” Silvestre told bettingexpert.com.

“I think Højlund will succeed at Man United, he just needs a bit more time.

“The dynamic of the team right now is not great but I believe he can succeed.”

Silvestre also spoke about United starlet Alejandro Garnacho, saying that he has the x-factor that former wingers David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo had, but I guess all we can hope for is that he becomes a star of his own. After all, that is what starts before him did.

“He (Garnacho) has the X-factor but he is still a long way from, Beckham, Ronaldo, Giggs and so on,” he added.

“His stats will improve but he has a lot of work to do.

“He is fighting for the team and he has the right mentality, so I think his goal and assist contribution will increase.”

Garnacho will now already that there are still a number of areas in his game that need to improve at the top level. At least age is on his side!

That is why Silvestre is falling for patience with young players like Garnacho.

“Garnacho is young, so he needs more experience and more games to develop. Sometimes he is a bit erratic and he is rushing into challenges, where he is not making the right decisions.

“But that’s how it is with young players and we just have to be patient and Erik ten Hag has to be patient as well.

“With time and experience he will be more consistent, also in his decision making. The manager is demanding a lot from him but he needs to just stay focused and his basics needs to be right because he is over complicating things a bit.”

  1. I wonder, did Silvester himself have the level to play for Utd? He was just been pushed, was a below average player. The same should be done to Serhou, given the opportunity. Which fully pledged center forward does he have in mind bearing in mind the current fair play/financial situation the team is facing? Harry Kane??
    Let him offer solutions!
