‘You are not good enough’ – Erik ten Hag slammed by ex-Red after Bournemouth defeat

Erik ten Hag is facing huge criticism following his side’s 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth over the weekend, with the loss coming straight off the back of their best performance of the season against Chelsea.

The result has left United stranded in the wilderness behind the Champions League chasing pack and if making that ground up wasn’t enough of a challenge, Ten Hag must now beat Bayern Munich before going to Anfield and getting a result.

As expected, experts and former United players have been quick to criticise Ten Hag after the game and the latest comments come from Gordon Hill.

“You are not good enough full stop,” Hill said on Twitter.

“Your Ajax Ideas are not up to United standards. I thought after Chelsea yes here we go, but after watching this display, the players are not good enough, Your tactics, sorry what tactics.”

No punches were held by the former United player. Despite the disastrous form, United are unlikely to take any action over Ten Hag’s position and the feeling is still that he has the club’s support.

The uncertainty surrounding the club’s ownership obviously doesn’t help but hopefully, there is some clarity on that situation next week.

There have been murmurings that Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s deal to acquire 25% of the club is being finalised and an announcement could come early next week.

Ratcliffe, a boyhood United fan, will assume responsibility for the club’s football operations but the Glazer family will remain as majority owners.
