Roy Keane names the ten players Erik ten Hag should get rid of

Roy Keane has named the ten players he thinks Erik ten Hag should get rid of as the Dutchman continues to spearhead United’s attempted return to glory.

Ten Hag enjoyed a good first season, exceeding all expectations of him as his side finished third in the Premier League and ended their six-year wait for silverware.

The second campaign has not gone nearly as well as United recently suffered their 11th defeat of the season in embarrassing fashion when Bournemouth won 3-0 at Old Trafford.

Keane, a consistent critic of the club over the years, has now named ten players he thinks should be sold and there are some controversial inclusions.

The United legend has been far from impressed with some of the new arrivals, his list would suggest. According to CaughtOffside, the 52-year-old guested the Stick to Football podcast, where he delivered his scathing verdict on some of the first-team regulars.

Notably, summer arrivals Jonny Evans and Sofyan Amrabat were both on Keane’s list and he also named Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane as players the club should get rid of.

Additionally, the Ireland icon wants to see the backs of Diogo Dalot, Antony, Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial and Christian Eriksen.

United are historically poor at selling and it would not be surprising to see most of the players on Keane’s list, if not all of them, remain at the club for a long time as their contracts run out.

Out of the players mentioned, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans, Sofyan Amrabat and Anthony Martial are all on expiring deals.

  1. Sell them, and relieve the captain the budge,I mean fenardes should never ever be a captain of anything unless it’s a sinking ship

  2. Kean I agree with you those players are holding manutd winning matches
I wish the new manutd owners can give kean a job of director of football how man coaches have we changed

  3. Well done Roy for saying it as it should. I don’t see why the powers that be at Man U cannot see how pathetic these players are and how they are milking the cloud for top salaries. Clear out and start afresh, but with a proper system in place. They are a laughing stock. And as for Fernandes, he must stop complaining all the time and acting like a cry baby. I would never have given him the Captain’s band. And as for Onana, he is not a world class keeper. Roy, hope U can talk some sense into these people.

  4. Poor fielding of players from the Manager, look at what happens to Mctominy he has been on the bench for long but now he’s a key player, just shows that the Manager doesn’t know his first 11.

  5. Ferguson was a brilliant manager, but he is also to blame for bringing in an average manager in David Moyes to continue at a big club. And average players followed him to United. And this started the Rut. Does anyone agree with me? Players who are stars in lower teams are most of the time average in a top team.

  6. First priority get rid of Glazers
    Secondly boycott all games
    Thirdly stop buying Manutd merchandise
Fourthly get rid off under performing players
If Rashford is not happy sell him Utd don’t need players that are unhappy and under performing
Problem with Utd is players are over payed , they think they can control the club , do what they want, etc
Players that cannot respect the manager must go

  7. Onana is a big disappointment.maybe the EPL is too much for him.iItalian football is very different from the English football..in England they play attacking football.in Italy they are very difensive.i mean most of the goals he conceeds are soft goals.yes he is good with the ball in his feets but I’m not sure about his hands.also when they conceed early they panic a lot and it becomes very difficult for them to score.

  8. Wonderful Mr Keane ,you called as I would do we have a manager that has the ……………but I’d like to point out ten hags system of playing are all the same ,and the two weakest players are the so called “crucial link ” macgiire n Onana ,n this goalkeeper was ten hags personal choice ,doesn’t that say a lot about his future, for me it lies else where ,…….jay
