‘He was the worst’ – Tim Sherwood blasts Man Utd signing for his Bournemouth performance

Last summer, Erik ten Hag was praised for his recruitment picks as nearly all of his signings had an immediate impact, with several players immediately becoming fan-favourites at Old Trafford.

Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen and Tyrell Malacia, in particular, were crucial to turning United’s season around after a disastrous start.

The latest summer’s batch of arrivals have found it more difficult and Tim Sherwood, the former Tottenham manager, has slammed Sofyan Amrabat for his performance against Bournemouth.

“I want Ten Hag or someone to tell me why Kobbie Mainoo is not playing and Amrabat is because Amrabat is by far their worst player today,” Sherwood said.

“He is having loads of the football, and he makes poor decisions on it. His distribution is not as good as Kobbie.”

Amrabat joined the club on a season-long loan, with United holding the option to make that deal permanent at the end of the campaign.

It’s too early to say if Ten Hag is planning on doing just that but as things stand, he is one of several players struggling in a horrid start to the season.
