Erik ten Hag is unsurprised that Scott McTominay has found himself among the goals this season.
The midfielder is in the most prolific form of his Manchester United career and, given the deeper role he so frequently plays, it’s come as quite a shock to the Old Trafford faithful.

Now the Reds’ top goalscorer with six to his name, McTominay has cemented his place in the starting 11 and will be looking to add to his impressive tally over the forthcoming season-defining fixtures.
Ten Hag on McTominay’s goalscoring
When quizzed on the Scot’s ability to be there in the right place at the right time, Ten Hag told the media (via ManUtd.com): “Actually, from the first moment, I saw he has a very good smell for making [it into] the box. And he is a very good finisher. So, that’s not a surprise. When we bring him in the way we want to play, in the position, when we get the balls there, yeah, he will finish.”
