Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has singled out two Manchester United forwards ahead of tonight’s group stage clash.
Manchester United face a pivotal night in the Champions League when they take on Galatasaray in Group A.
It remains to be seen if United can keep their hopes alive for qualification to the knockout face, but it’s a must win tie and it won’t be easy out in Istanbul.
Erik ten Hag confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Rasmus Hojlund will be in contention to return to the team after missing Sunday’s 3-0 win over Everton. The same applies to Brazilian winger Antony and both players feature in our predicted XI column.
Anthony Martial lead the line at Goodison Park and got his name on the scoresheet. It remains to be seen if he will start in Turkey, but I suspect we’ll definitely see him at some point.
Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk told Sporx that regardless of who is given the nod to start by Ten Hag, he expects his defence to face a challenge.
“Rasmus Hojlund and Anthony Martial are very good players,” Buruk said. “Whoever plays, they will show high performance.”
A lot has changed in the two months since Galatasaray won 3-2 at Old Trafford. And tonight, we need a response or we’ll be out of the Champions League.
“Our goal is to get out of the group,” the Galatasaray manager added. “Manchester United have changed and improved compated to the first match. They won five of the last six matches in the league. They have also become better as a squad.
“It is a very important match to get out of the group.”
Hojlund already has five goals in the Champions League this season. He will be looking to add to his account in Istanbul.
