Tottenham join race for Jean-Clair Todibo amid Manchester United links

Manchester United will face stiff competition if they launch a pursuit to sign OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo.

The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to United in recent months, with Nice owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe set to acquire 25% of the Premier League club.

According to a report by The Standard, Tottenham have ‘joined the race’ to sign Todibo as they prepare to enter the winter transfer window for a new centre-back.

Spurs, like United, are desperate for defensive reinforcements and the same report stresses that Liverpool are interested in the France international too.

Todibo has impressed in a high-flying Nice side challenging Paris Saint-Germain at the top of the Ligue 1 table.

Furthermore, it is understood that Todibo is available for around £39 million and the report claims he is keen to move to the Premier League.

The young French defender will seek assurances he will be a regular starter at his new club as he bids to force his way into the Les Bleus backline ahead of Euro 2024.
