Video: ‘An absolute worldie’ – Everton stalwart humble in defeat when analysing Garnacho’s wonder strike

Everton’s James Tarkowski couldn’t help but laud Alejandro Garnacho’s wonder goal that gave Manchester United the lead at Goodison Park.

The Red Devils overturned the home side 3-0 amidst the hostile atmosphere in Merseyside, as Everton looked to galvanise on the back of their 10-point deduction.

All their plans for the clash were thrown off though when the young Argentine produced a scintillating, Wayne Rooney-esque finish to silence the irate Toffees.

It was later capitalised on thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, with United overseeing their first win over a one-goal margin this season.

Speaking to Sky Sports post-match, Tarkowski stated: “Everyone was just in awe of the goal, to be honest, there’s nothing you can do about that. Sometimes, you hold your hands up and say it’s just an absolute worldie; to score an overhead kick from near the edge of the box, into the top corner against one of the best goalies around… fair play to the kid.”
