Three observations from Manchester United’s 3-0 win over Everton

Manchester United have secured a crucial set of three points on the road against Everton.

The Reds are now sat sixth in the Premier League, while Everton remain in the relegation zone.

Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial all got on the scoresheet and Andre Onana kept another clean sheet. In terms of our attacking and defensive play, it was a good day at the office for the Reds.

Here are three observations we took from the game:

Mainoo shines

Kobbie Mainoo was a calm presence in the centre of the pitch. It was his first Premier League start and he looked assuring throughout.

The composure he possessed, on top of the defensive awareness, was clear to see.

A readymade replacement for Casemiro? If it wasn’t for Garnacho’s incredible overhead kick, I’d give Mainoo with the man of the match award.

Rashford back on the scoresheet

It was Rashford’s first goal since the 3-2 defeat against Arsenal.

Ten Hag will be hoping this is enough to help his forward kick on, but it wasn’t one of Rashford’s better performances.

Martial’s obligatory goal against Everton

Everton must be Martial’s favourite opponent. The Frenchman scored his ninth goal against the Toffees this afternoon.

It was United’s third goal of the evening.

  1. Great result, and, I admit, a victory I wasn’t expecting.
Lots of saddos up and down the country sneering we beat a team in the relegation zone. They’re desperate, aren’t they? We all know why Everton are down there; United have won away to a Team that’s been doing pretty well up until recently.
