Dimitar Berbatov fears new Manchester United signing looks lost

Former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has had his say on Mason Mount’s move to Old Trafford.

Mount joined United for £55 million in the summer and has struggled with form and injury. The England international has been limited to just eight appearances and he has yet to register a goal or assist.

Speaking to Betfair, Berbatov gave his verdict of Mount, saying (via Dazn): “So, he’s the player I want to see give more and produce more because in some games it looks like he doesn’t know how to fit into that system. He looks a bit lost.”

Berbatov knows what it’s like to join United for big money and the extra pressure that comes with that. He added: “He was bought for big money, which brings big expectations, but not only that, his stress levels will be high.”

The Bulgarian also offered advice to Mount: “It’s not working out, so now is the opportunity to stay concentrated and just be in the game and start to show the quality you showed at Chelsea.”

There is an adaptation period with every player, but they tend to take longer when those players arrive before picking up injuries. Hopefully Mount can become more prolific in the new year.

United travel to Goodison Park on Sunday to take on Everton. It remains to be seen if Mount will be in the staring line-up to face the Toffees.
