Manchester United fans will be over the moon to see Lisandro Martinez back on the grass at Carrington following his two-month spell on the sidelines.
The centre-back was confirmed to be injured in late September after the metatarsal fracture that ended his 2022/2023 campaign prematurely was re-aggravated. Reports suggested that Martinez had been forced into taking painkillers to try and get through the opening games of the season but ultimately, he required a second surgery to correct the problem.
Erik ten Hag had told the press last month that Martinez and Casemiro, who is unavailable due to a hamstring issue, were not expected back in action until after Christmas.
Reds return to training
Today, the Argentine watched on as his teammates resumed their training upon their return from the final international break of the year. He took part in an individual session as he continued his recovery.

Meanwhile, United were also granted a huge boost in the form of Luke Shaw being involved at Carrington; he could make his long-awaited comeback against Everton on Sunday after a lengthy lay-off.
