Manchester United get Marcus Rashford boost ahead of England qualifier

Manchester United were dealt two injury scares ahead of the weekend as the November international break started.

Marcus Rashford was forced off whilst playing for England against Malta and there was a separate injury concern as far as Andre Onana was concerned. Recent reports tell us Onana will return to Manchester for further assessment before Sunday’s trip to Goodison Park.

However, fears over Rashford’s injury after a collision with Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold have eased ahead of England’s final 2024 European Championship qualifier against North Macedonia.

Although Rashford appeared to be in a discomfort, prompting the England medical team to withdraw him, the Manchester Evening News claims he was spotted training with the squad yesterday morning.

United had nine players out prior to the international break, so the last thing Erik ten Hag needed was more injuries added to the list when the Reds need to win football matches to climb up the Premier League table.

Hopefully Rashford is rested tonight because there’s no point risking him in a pointless qualifier. England have already qualified.
