Bayern Munich will consider making a January swoop for Manchester United defender Raphael Varane.

The Frenchman has lost his place in Erik ten Hag’s line-up this season due to his stop start injury record. It was thought that Varane would attract interest from Saudi Arabia as a result, but he may have a chance to play in the Bundesliga for Bayern Munich instead.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Bayern have internally considered the 30-year-old and they don’t consider a January move unrealistic because of his salary.

It’s not a hot topic for the Bundesliga champions just yet, but it’s a possibility because they believe Varane could move in January.

I would be surprised if United lost Varane midway through the season when we’re already short on defenders, unless Ten Hag is given funds to sign new players in January.

Varane has been one of our weakest performers, although he did score the goal that won the first game of the season against Wolves. The former France international must not be enjoying his time on the bench under Ten Hag.
