Sir Jim Ratcliffe will take guidance from Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is doing some early PR groundwork with stories emerging that he will take guidance from Sir Alex Ferguson once he takes control of football operations at Manchester United.

It’s all change at Old Trafford as British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe edges closer to purchasing a 25% stake in the club.

While Erik ten Hag enjoys some time off from a difficult season, as the international break continues, chief executive Richard Arnold has been sent his marching orders and football director John Murtough is expected to follow him out the exit door.

According to The Telegraph, Ratcliffe is ready to take advice from Sir Alex Ferguson when making decisions about boardroom changes in his role overseeing football operations.

This will apparently come as a boost for Dougie Freedman’s prospects of leaving Crystal Palace for United, but we understand that former Southampton and Tottenham Head of Recruitment, Paul Mitchell, is another leading contender for a job at the club.

The report says the Palace sporting director is a close ally and former neighbour of Ferguson, although he is not the only contender on Ratcliffe’s shortlist. This will inevitably lead the several names being thrown into the mix.

Ferguson has not made any big decisions at the club in a long time, although it is believed that he played a hand in bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club.

  1. i think recruiting some members of brighton’s boardroom would make some change. imagine with available funds what they could make of it considering how their work is impressive without money
