Marcus Rashford delays international duty with England due to personal reasons

Marcus Rashford has delayed his arrival at the England camp due to personal reasons, as confirmed in an update on Tuesday.

The forward received a call-up from Gareth Southgate to represent the Three Lions in their final Euro 2024 qualifiers but did not meet up with his teammates at St. George’s Park yesterday.

Instead, Rashford will join up with the squad later this week, presumably ahead of Friday’s clash with Malta at Wembley at 7.45pm. England then make the trip to face North Macedonia on Monday, November 20 to cement their first-placed finish in Group C, having already booked their spot at next year’s tournament in Germany.

Rashford keen to end goal drought

Rashford has struggled to replicate the same form he displayed last season after overseeing a 30-goal campaign for the first time in his career, though he retains the full backing of manager Erik ten Hag.

The situation is seemingly the same with Southgate too, as he has reiterated his confidence in the 26-year-old by granting him another call-up amid his goal drought.
