Early team news: Manchester United vs Luton Town

There is talk about getting our season ‘back on track’ ahead of every game this season. It’s the same story again this weekend as Manchester United host Luton Town in the Premier League.

The Reds go into the game after a dramatic 4-3 defeat to FC Copenhagen in the Champions League.

Luton Town come to Old Trafford on Saturday after holding Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road.

This will be our final game before the international break, so we’ll be hoping that the team doesn’t suffer anymore injuries.

There was one fresh injury on Wednesday night as Jonny Evans came off in the first half, which makes the Northern Ireland international a doubt this weekend.

When asked about Evans’ injury last night, Ten Hag said (via ManUtd.com): “I’m not sure at this moment. He has to come off. I think it was a pity because he was part of it from that good part in the game where we were controlling, very composed and calm, it’s the way I see my team.

“So we have to see how bad it is. It’s not about 11 players. We have more players and we have good players, so we have good replacements to solve that.”

Raphael Varane replaced Evans in defence, but the Frenchman looked disinterested. Maybe his nose has been put out of joint after losing his place in the line-up.

Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag will continue to do without the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw and Casemiro for the visit of Luton.

Luton Town team news

Rob Edwards should see no reason to change the starting line-up from last time out.

Luton Town predicted line-up vs United: Kaminski; Mengi, Lockyer, Osho; Kabore, Nakamba, Barkley, Doughty; Townsend, Ogben; Morris.

They’ve got a number of players ruled out including Reece Burke, Mads Juel Andersen, Daniel Potts, Amari’I Bell and Albert Sambi Lokonga.
