Paul Merson has tipped Fulham to get a win over Manchester United on Saturday.
Pressure is mounting on Erik ten Hag right now. It doesn’t look like the Dutchman could buy a win at the moment and United’s performances show regression from last season.
As a result, it’s hard to see where positive results are going to come from and Merson is predicting more misery for the Reds this weekend.
The former Arsenal star has predicted a 1-0 win for Fulham at Craven Cottage.
“As for Erik ten Hag, I’m not in agreement with the way he treats his players,” Merson said, as per Sportskeeda. “Man management is just as important as coaching and he comes off as someone who doesn’t want to be questioned regardless of the situation.
“There’s a lot of pressure on him and I think it’s going to get a lot worse, so I’m going for a Fulham win.”
Despite United having such a poor start to the season, Ten Hag’s side have a chance to record three consecutive Premier League away wins for the first time since a run of 10 between June and December 2020 (under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer).
However, on a more worrying note, United have lost half of their games in the league this season (5/10), which makes it our worst start to a league campaign since 1986-87 (six).
United have took maximum points on just one of their last 11 Premier League visits to London. Now is the time to improve that record because Ten Hag is walking a tightrope.
