Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Casemiro has sustained an injury and will Saturday’s trip to face Fulham, as per Samuel Luckhurst.
The midfielder was withdrawn at the interval as Manchester United were trailing 2-0 to Newcastle United, with fans expecting that the substitution was due to him being on a yellow card, or his poor performance in the first half.
However, the manager has since established that it’s neither, and has instead stated that Casemiro is the latest addition to United’s ever-growing injury list.
Casemiro ruled out of Fulham trip
He had just missed three matches through a mix of suspension and an ankle problem, which he picked up on Brazil duty, so it may be a reaggravation of the issue.
It means that Ten Hag will again be forced into a midfield shuffle at the weekend when United face 14th-placed Fulham at Craven Cottage. Anything less than a win would be just another humiliation after a string of such poor, poor results.
