Manchester United welcome Newcastle United to Old Trafford on Wednesday evening in an 8.15pm kick-off.
It’s a return to Carabao Cup action for the Red Devils tomorrow as they look to continue their defence of the trophy with a repeat of last season’s final, which ended 2-0 in United’s favour.
For the Magpies, they’re having to factor Champions League football into their schedule for the first time since the 2002/2003 season, and it’s certainly having an impact on their squad.
Newcastle’s injury woes
Last time out in Europe, Newcastle fell to a 1-0 defeat against Borussia Dortmund at St. James’ Park and injury concerns were sparked when prolific frontman Alexander Isak limped off in the 15th minute after appearing to sustain an issue with his groin. It was later confirmed that the Swede had suffered a reoccurrence of a previous problem, which would keep him out until after the November international break.
Other sidelined players include Harvey Barnes, Sven Botman, Jacob Murphy, Elliot Anderson and Javier Manquillo.

The news of Sandro Tonali’s 10-month ban was also announced last week, so Eddie Howe will now be planning how to navigate his absence for the remainder of the campaign.
