Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana missed out on winning the Yashin Trophy at Monday night’s Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris.
The ceremony was presented by David Beckham, who not only passed the Ballon d’Or award to World Cup winner Lionel Messi but paid a beautiful tribute to Sir Bobby Charlton on stage.
Onana was nominated for the Yashin Trophy, but it was won by Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, who helped Argentina win the World Cup on Qatar.
Our first choice keeper finished sixth in the race for the prestigious goalkeeper award.
