Onana 8, Hojlund 4: player ratings from Manchester United 0-3 Manchester City

Manchester United have succumbed to yet another defeat in the Manchester derby, with Pep Guardiola’s men walking away from the 191st derby with a win, ensuring they have been victorious in five of the last six.

United have now lost five of their opening ten games in the Premier League and the pressure is mounting on Erik ten Hag despite three straight wins before this weekend.

United were good in the opening exchanges of the game on Sunday but City eventually gained control and from that point, the Reds never looked like threatening.

Man United Player Ratings

Andre Onana – 8
United’s best player by a mile. Hopefully, that confirms that a corner has been turned. Pulled off several stunning stops.

Diogo Dalot – 4
One fourth of a severely lacking backline.

Harry Maguire – 6
United’s best defender on the day and on form, in the squad.

Jonny Evans – 4
Did not look comfortable at all out there.

Victor Lindelof – 4
Out of place at left-back.

Sofyan Amrabat – 4
Looked like a deer in headlights. When the City players weren’t in kicking reach, they would have their way with him.

Scott McTominay – 3
Got into some good areas in the attacking third but didn’t do enough defensively and spurned a couple of good chances with poor decision-making.

Christian Eriksen – 5
Some neat passes and that was about it. Run over in the midfield.

Bruno Fernandes – 4
Looked more frustrated than usual and from the right wing, he is often anonymous and that was the case today.

Marcus Rashford – 3
Poor body language and just doesn’t look like he will return to the form that earned him 30 goals last season.

Rasmus Hojlund – 4
He’s exactly the striker United need right now but that was a bad day for the 20-year-old. Conceded the penalty and never got it right at the other end.
