Manchester United’s troubling season continued on Sunday afternoon as Erik ten Hag’s men were comfortably defeated by their cross-city rivals at Old Trafford.

United hardly put up a fight in the second half against Pep Guardiola’s side and now, after United recorded their fifth Premier League defeat from ten games this season, the Reds have matched an incredible record set by Sir Alex Ferguson.

And it’s not good news for Ten Hag, who is under increasing pressure to turn United’s fortunes around after a disastrous start to the season.

United have now lost as many games at Old Trafford since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement as the Scot did over his 26-year tenure at the Theatre of Dreams.

Ferguson retired just ten years ago and that makes for miserable reading for United fans, who are hardly being treated to great football either.

United look tired and out of it whenever they play and that is a real issue for Ten Hag. Another concern is that it does not look like it’s going to get better anytime soon.

Lethargic players is not a good look and especially when we’re not even close to being halfway through the season. Of course, injuries have played a part as well but it shouldn’t be this bad.
