(Video) Andre Onana saves Manchester United with penalty denial in stoppage-time

Right at the end, FC Copenhagen were awarded a lifeline penalty when Scott McTominay was penalised after a high boot inside the box.

That was when Andre Onana stood tall and saved Manchester United with his penalty denial.

You could see how much it meant to everyone because Onana’s team-mates swarmed him for celebrations before the full-time whistle.

Four minutes of stoppage time were played by the time Copenhagen took their penalty, so the save secured three points for United after Harry Maguire’s second half goal.

Everyone will hope that Onana can kick on now and show his level of consistency on a regular basis. The Cameroonian went some way to silence his doubters tonight after a rocky start to life at United.

Next up for United in the Champions League is an away trip to Copenhagen. That’s another must win game for the Reds if they want to reach the knockout stages of the Champions League.
