Copenhagen ace prepares to face two former teammates vs Manchester United

FC Copenhagen midfielder Rasmus Falk stays in close contact with his childhood team-mate Christian Eriksen.

Falk insists there has been no trash talk between the friendly pair ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash at Old Trafford.

Manchester United will host the Danish side and we’ll be aiming for our first win in Europe of the new season, after losing to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray.

Copenhagen are also looking for their first win in the tournament. Otherwise, like us, they can forget about reaching the knockout stages.

Falk and Eriksen played together as kids in the Middelfart Boldklub academy and they both moved to Odense as Danish teenagers in 2005. As a result, they remain in contact regardless of where their careers take them.

Now they face off in the Champions League.

“My relationship with Christian is very close,” Falk said, as quoted by the Daily Mail. “We don’t see each other all the time but we text and we keep in touch.

“I spoke with Christian today, over Skype we spoke for quite a while. Obviously when the draw came out we sent some messages…

“There will be no trash-talking between us. We know his strengths and we know his weaknesses. He’s a quality player and we have got to get ready because we know what he brings to the game.”

Furthermore, Falk was also team-mates with United’s new striker Rasmus Hojlund when the 20-year-old broke into the Copenhagen side as a teenager.

“It’s a great story,” Falk added. “We are looking forward (to playing against him). For him to get to Manchester United is massive for him. None of us thought it would happen and it will be really interesting to play against him.”

Hojlund goes into the game after scoring three goals in two Champions League games for United. It would be great to see him net one or two against his former club on the biggest stage in Europe.
