Three players ruled out: Heckingbottom provides Blades’ team news for Manchester United clash

Paul Heckingbottom is preparing to welcome Manchester United to Bramall Lane this Saturday evening as the Premier League returns to action.

Sheffield United are still seeking their first win since returning to the top flight this term and have just one point on the board heading into the weekend’s game, so will be doing their utmost to cause problems for Erik ten Hag’s side.

Prior to the international break, Chris Basham sustained an agonising ankle injury during the Blades’ 3-1 defeat to Fulham. The defender has since undergone numerous operations to try and correct the issue and remains in hospital, Heckingbottom confirmed.

United navigating other injuries

Club captain John Egan will miss the match as he continues his Achilles recovery, while Tom Davies is ruled out with a thigh injury.

The Yorkshire outfit may be boosted by the return of Ben Osborn, who has been unavailable for the last six games.

Kick-off is at 8pm on Sky Sports.
