Manchester United planning to extend three players’ contracts

Manchester United are preparing to extend three players’ contracts in the coming months.

Erik ten Hag is still in the process of building his squad. Since his arrival during the summer of 2022, there has been multiple setbacks in terms of recruitment, and it’s unlikely to see any improvements on that front until there’s a change of ownership.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the three players with contracts set to be extended include Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Hannibal Mejbri.

United have six players that could see their current deals expire in the summer, so the club will be considering the option of a one-year extensions.

The report states that doubts remain over whether United will exercise the extension option on Anthony Martial’s contract.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is expected to be involved in the decision making process should his buy-in proposal prove successful.

It would make sense to give Mejbri an extension because he is the type of exciting prospect United should be keeping in and around the team.

However, it’s about re-sale value when it comes to Victor Lindelof and possibly Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

I don’t think the Swede has done anything to warrant a new deal at Old Trafford.
