Manchester United could propose Harry Maguire swap deal with AC Milan

Manchester United are being linked with a swap deal during the winter transfer window that would see Harry Maguire move to pastures new.

It was believed that Maguire was close to leaving during the summer, although links to West Ham quickly diminished.

Maguire remained at United and is now trying to get into Erik ten Hag’s plans. That said, even if he does over the coming fixtures, it’s down to the fact we have a depleted defence due to injuries.

The defender started the 2-1 win over Brentford prior to the international break, assisting a stoppage-time winner, and there’s a chance he could start again this weekend versus Sheffield United.

A report from talkSPORT claims AC Milan are interested in Maguire and could make an offer to sign him in January when the winter transfer window opens.

That has led to suggestions that United could propose a swap deal in attempt to get Fikayo Tomori in from Milan. It goes without saying that Tomori would be substantially pricer than Maguire, so the Italian club would money on top of any exchange.

I think United will be doing well to get Maguire off their books unless Tomori is a primary target, which I would doubt.
