Manchester United are considering re-igniting their interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong.
The Dutch international is one of the most highly-rated fullbacks across Europe and is renowned for what he provides for his side on the attack. Already this season, he’s picked up four goals and four assists in his first 10 games and has played a pivotal role in Leverkusen heading into the international break atop the Bundesliga.
Frimpong, 22, recently signed a new five-year deal with the German club but a release clause of around €40 million has been included in the new terms, as reported by Sky Sports.
United’s interest in Frimpong
Fabrizio Romano confirmed on Monday (via The United Stand) that the Red Devils had eyed Frimpong as a potential option for the future, with the player keen on a return to English football; he started out his career in Manchester City’s youth academy before signing for Celtic, then made the switch to Leverkusen.
